What is a Poster or a Fine Art
Poster
A poster can be defined in many ways and incorporate many different genres of art, including western art.
Posters can be categorized into either Art Prints or Entertainment Posters.
The dictionary defines posters as: “A large printed placard, bill or announcement often illustrated, posted to
advertise or promote something” . Additionally a poster is also defined as “A reproduction of an artist’s painting
or photograph usually printed on a large sheet of paper”. Posters, particularly those that are of artist’s
paintings, are usually framed behind glass and considered Fine Art Posters. These are usually open edition works of
artists or photographers. Many famous paintings of well renowned artists such as Frederick Remington, Albert
Beirstadt or Charles Russell are affordably priced and available to the western art enthusiast in the form of a
western poster. An economical way for novice collectors of western art to begin building their collections is by
purchasing a Western Poster.
